Role summary
The New Mexico Public Education Department is seeking a Data Analyst to join the Assessment, Research, Evaluation, and Accountability Bureau. This role is responsible for data management, validation, and documentation, including cleaning, merging, and aggregating large administrative datasets. The Data Analyst will perform statistical analysis and data visualization, and communicate with stakeholders via email and phone for data validation and to address inquiries. The position is based in Santa Fe and requires a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of directly related experience or a combination of education and experience. Why does the job exist?
The Data Analyst is responsible for data management, data validation, and documentation. The Data Analyst follows
requirements in the preparation of datasets for analysis, cleans, merges, and aggregates large administrative datasets,
implements workflows and performs statistical analysis and data visualization as needed. The Data Analyst is also required to
communicate with stakeholders by email and by phone as part of the data validation process and in response to questions or
requests. Other duties as needed and assigned.

Minimum Qualification
High School diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of experience directly related to the position in providing GIS support, research, statistics, computer science, data analysis, accounting, auditing, finance, economics, business, public administration, budgeting, management, and/or systems analysis or related professional certification as determined by the hiring agency. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling two (2) years may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico's Driver's License
Working Conditions
Office setting, exposure to Visual/Video Display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting. Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
