The Local DWI (LDWI) Bureau, a part of the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration's (DFA) Local Government Division, provides essential technical assistance and financial oversight to all 33 county DWI programs. In addition to managing distributions and grant allocations from the State DWI Grant Council to combat impaired driving, the Bureau is responsible for the administration and distribution of the Law Enforcement Protection Fund (LEPF). This fund provides critical resources to enhance public safety across New Mexico. By overseeing these diverse funding streams, the Bureau promotes a unified and effective approach to community safety through close collaboration with state and local partners.

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of professional level experience with a tactical impact directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment.
Pre-employment criminal background check is required, and employment is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
This role operates in a professional office environment, requiring frequent use of a computer, video display terminal, and telephone. The position involves extended periods of sitting and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Regular travel using a state-provided vehicle is required.
