Founding Fullstack Engineer
Role summary
Early-stage AI startup seeks a Founding AI Engineer/AI Product Engineer with 4+ years of experience to build and deploy production AI systems from the ground up. Responsibilities include designing LLM-based systems, developing scalable backend infrastructure, and shipping customer-facing features. Requires strong Python/TypeScript skills and experience with modern AI tooling. Bonus points for experience with agentic systems, RAG pipelines, vector databases, prompt engineering, and AI evaluation frameworks. This is a high-ownership, remote role with significant influence and equity.
Founding AI Engineer / AI Product Engineer
Location: Remote (USA) – San Francisco or New York preferred
Compensation: $180k - $225k (Depending on experience) + Equity
We're partnering with well-funded early-stage AI startups looking for experienced engineers who want to help build category-defining AI products from the ground up.
These are high-ownership roles where you'll work directly with founders, influence product direction, and ship AI systems that are already delivering value to customers.
What You'll Do
- Build and deploy production AI agents and workflows
- Design systems involving LLMs, memory, retrieval, tool calling, and orchestration
- Develop scalable backend infrastructure and APIs
- Ship customer-facing features across the stack
- Collaborate closely with founders on product and technical strategy
- Operate in a true 0→1 startup environment
What We're Looking For
✓ 4+ years of software engineering experience
✓ Proven experience building and shipping AI products from 0 to 1
✓ Strong backend skills in Python and/or TypeScript
✓ Experience with modern AI tooling and frameworks
✓ Comfortable working in fast-moving startup environments
