
Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Role summary
The Engineering Manager will lead engineering activities for foundry, machining, and assembly operations, reporting to the Plant Manager. This role involves managing a team of engineers, overseeing capital projects from planning to execution, and driving productivity, quality, and cost improvements. Key responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring documentation accuracy, managing equipment procurement, supporting product industrialization, and maintaining safety and OSHA compliance. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field and 7+ years of manufacturing experience, with at least 3 years in leadership, are required. Strong project management, CAD, and metallurgy knowledge are essential.
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Engineering Manager oversees engineering activities across foundry, machining, and assembly operations. This role is responsible for leading a team of engineers, managing capital projects, and driving productivity improvements aligned with operational goals.
- Key ResponsibilitiesLead and mentor a team of engineers supporting foundry, machining, and assembly operations
- Oversee capital project planning, budgeting, and execution
- Develop and implement improvement initiatives to meet productivity, quality, and cost targets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support manufacturing operations and resolve technical issues
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of engineering changes, SOPs, and work instructions
- Manage tooling and equipment design and procurement
- Support product industrialization and manufacturability assessments
- Promote safety and ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable standards
- QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
- 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering capital and improvement projects
- Experience in foundry, machining, and assembly operations
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software and manufacturing documentation
- Knowledge of metallurgy and material properties, particularly in casting and machining
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Experience with MES systems is a plus
Work Location
This is an onsite position, Monday through Friday, at a manufacturing facility. Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs.

Physical Requirements:
The physical requirements for this role include the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, typically up to 8 hours a day, and regularly operate standard office equipment such as computers and phones. Employees should be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and frequently perform tasks that require typing, writing, and document handling. Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary, along with adequate visual and auditory abilities to read materials and participate in meetings.
