About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to join our Trust & Loyalty organization, specifically within the CB1 Growth team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing foundational solutions for our subscription product, Coinbase One. You will serve as both an individual contributor and a technical leader, guiding the development of scalable, reliable, and innovative features that enhance user engagement and drive international growth. Your expertise will help shape the strategic technical roadmap, mentor fellow engineers, and ensure the operational health of our products. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact projects that directly influence the growth and retention of our user base, leveraging your deep technical knowledge and passion for blockchain technology and growth metrics.
Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of architecting complex solutions
• Experience managing technical roadmaps and driving engineering excellence within organizations
• Hands-on experience building or scaling subscription, membership, or growth-related systems
• Strong understanding of growth metrics such as conversion, activation, retention, and engagement
• Proficiency with A/B testing frameworks and experimentation methodologies
• Familiarity with responsible use of generative AI tools and copilots in software development
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work on ambiguous, high-impact projects
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams and stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement foundational solutions for the Coinbase subscription product
• Provide technical guidance and structure to cross-functional teams, collaborating closely with management and stakeholders to define strategic roadmaps
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, ensuring high-quality outputs
• Mentor and train team members on design techniques, coding standards, and best practices
• Develop high-quality, well-tested code that meets customer needs and product specifications
• Maintain and improve the operational health and stability of the product
• Drive experimentation and funnel optimization to increase sign-ups, user engagement, and international reach
• Collaborate on strategic initiatives involving on-chain partnerships and growth levers
