Through our nonprofit Atria Research Institute and Public Health Institute, we also work to accelerate the translation of medical breakthroughs and expand access to preventive care for as many people as possible.
About The Role
Atria Health is seeking a Staff Software Engineer who can operate across both domain product teams (Clinical Experience, Member Experience, and Care Delivery) and our technical stack (web, mobile, backend, cloud infrastructure). This is a senior individual contributor role responsible for providing cross‑team technical leadership, driving complex, multi‑team initiatives from idea to launch, and partnering closely with Product, Design, and Clinical leaders to ship measurable outcomes.
The successful candidate will collaborate with product managers and engineering leads to shape how features are built, ensure architectural consistency across teams, and take ownership of end‑to‑end execution for complex projects. Responsibilities include defining solutions, ensuring strong monitoring, and maintaining clean analytics in Mixpanel. The role emphasizes both technical excellence and delivering tangible health outcomes through innovative solutions.

- Proven track record of owning and shipping multi‑team projects within modern web stacks.
- Experience working closely with product and design teams on user‑facing features.
- Comfortable leading technical decisions in ambiguous domains and defending tradeoffs effectively.
- Strong full‑stack skills: designing APIs and data models, building UIs, and implementing monitoring and metrics.
- Deep familiarity with at least one cloud provider and infrastructure‑as‑code practices.
- Strong systems design instincts covering reliability, performance, security, and cost management.
- Excellent debugging and incident response skills, with the ability to analyze logs, traces, and data to resolve issues.
- Proven leadership ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Effective communication skills to explain complex technical topics to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Mentorship experience and a passion for developing engineering talent.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and clinical leaders to translate ambiguous problems into clear technical strategies and execution plans.
- Own end‑to‑end delivery for complex initiatives that span multiple product teams and services, ensuring timely and high-quality releases.
- Lead the design and evolution of architecture for core product areas such as member journeys, clinical workflows, and care coordination systems.
- Design APIs, data models, and integration patterns that facilitate scalable and maintainable clinical and member experiences.
- Drive reliability and performance improvements through capacity planning, SLO management, and incident‑ready system designs.
- Embed testing and observability into the development process, including unit tests, contract tests, and automated checks.
- Ensure comprehensive analytics instrumentation in Mixpanel, maintaining consistency in event tracking and properties across products.
- Set up dashboards and monitoring systems that accurately reflect user and clinical outcomes, supporting data-driven decision-making.
- Lead post‑incident reviews, identify systemic issues, and implement improvements to prevent recurrence.
- Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, providing guidance on design, code reviews, and best practices.
- Help uphold engineering standards, including coding conventions, architecture patterns, and documentation norms.
- Balance high standards with iterative delivery and experimentation, fostering a pragmatic, product-focused engineering culture.
