About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our Trust & Loyalty organization, specifically within the CB1 Growth team. This role involves designing and implementing foundational solutions for our subscription products, including Coinbase's flagship offering, Coinbase One. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical architecture, driving strategic initiatives, and mentoring engineering teams. The ideal candidate is passionate about blockchain technology, growth metrics, and scalable system design. You will collaborate closely with product managers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to define roadmaps, prioritize projects, and ensure operational excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the future of crypto memberships, enhance user engagement, and support Coinbase’s mission of increasing economic freedom globally.
Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering
• Proven experience architecting and developing solutions for complex, ambiguous problems with significant impact
• Strong background in managing technical roadmaps and driving engineering excellence within organizations
• Experience building or scaling subscription, membership, or growth-related systems
• Familiarity with growth metrics such as conversion, activation, retention, and engagement
• Hands-on experience with A/B testing frameworks and experimentation methodologies
• Proficiency in responsibly leveraging generative AI tools and copilots in daily workflows
• Excellent coding skills with a focus on writing high-quality, well-tested, and maintainable code
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with a track record of mentoring and guiding engineering teams

Responsibilities
