About The Role
The Lead Software Engineer at Snapsheet is a pivotal role responsible for guiding the technical direction and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions within the claims engine platform. As a senior technical leader, you will participate in architecture discussions, oversee code reviews, and contribute to the development of scalable, reliable, and efficient systems. This role requires a proactive mindset, with a focus on mentoring team members and fostering a collaborative, agile environment. You will work remotely, collaborating with cross-functional teams to build purposeful technology that delivers real-world results. Your expertise will help shape the future of Snapsheet’s claims technology and support the company’s mission to revolutionize claims processing through innovative solutions.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field
  • Minimum of 5 years of full-stack web development experience
  • At least 2 years of experience working with relational databases
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies and the ability to contribute across the full technology stack
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent technical communication skills, capable of articulating complex ideas clearly
  • Experience in solving scalability challenges and discussing solutions in depth
  • Curiosity and proactive approach to understanding systems and tools beyond surface-level frameworks
  • Willingness to dive deep and develop expertise in at least one technical area
  • Clear understanding of product and business context behind technical work

Responsibilities

  • Drive the technical vision and architecture of the claims engine platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
  • Participate in and oversee code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices, coding standards, and development processes
  • Identify and resolve complex technical challenges, including scalability and performance issues
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously enhance the platform
  • Support deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of applications in cloud environments
  • Promote a collaborative and agile development environment across distributed teams
