About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Data Engineer to join our Clinical Data Team. In this remote role based in the United States, you will play a critical part in designing, developing, and maintaining Python-based integrations and automation solutions that connect various clinical systems across our hospital network. Your primary focus will be to enable seamless, secure data workflows that support the organization’s evolving patient care initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in healthcare data systems, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for improving clinical operations through innovative data solutions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the future of healthcare technology by building reliable integrations that enhance data accessibility, security, and interoperability across multiple hospital sites.
Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience working with clinical data systems, EHR integration, or related healthcare IT fields
  • Proficiency in building data integration and automation solutions using Python
  • Experience with Mirth Connect, HL7 standards, and related healthcare interoperability technologies
  • Familiarity with Docker, virtual computing environments, and cloud-based workflows
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style
  • Ability to maintain patient data security while enabling stakeholder access in a thoughtful and organized manner
  • U.S. work authorization is required

Responsibilities

  • Partner with clinical, technical, and operational stakeholders to develop and communicate effective data integration strategies
  • Contribute to the development, testing, and maintenance of HL7 interfaces and workflows utilizing Mirth Connect and related tools
  • Support and enhance clinical data systems and integrations across a network of hospitals to ensure reliable data flow
  • Analyze complex issues related to EHR transport, storage, and interoperability, providing timely resolutions
  • Document processes, troubleshoot problems, and optimize existing integrations for performance and security
  • Communicate progress, insights, and technical recommendations clearly to cross-functional teams
  • Stay updated on healthcare data standards and emerging technologies to continuously improve integration solutions
