About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Scientist to join our dynamic analytics team. In this pivotal role, you will serve as a technical cornerstone, leading the development of advanced machine learning models and data products that influence key business strategies. You will work at the intersection of product development, engineering, and strategic planning to extract meaningful insights from vast telemetry datasets. This individual contributor role requires a passion for technical excellence, innovative problem-solving, and mentorship. You will architect scalable data science frameworks, promote best practices in MLOps, and foster a culture of continuous technical growth within the team. Your expertise will directly impact our ability to deliver innovative solutions in the observability space, helping organizations improve system reliability and performance.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in Data Science, Statistics, or related fields with a proven track record of delivering impactful machine learning solutions
- Expert-level proficiency in Python, including libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, numpy, etc.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL for complex data querying and performance optimization
- Hands-on experience with supervised learning techniques (Regression, Random Forests, Gradient Boosting like XGBoost/LightGBM)
- Experience with unsupervised learning methods (Clustering, Dimensionality Reduction)
- Proficiency in time series forecasting models such as ARIMA and Prophet
- Experience with data transformation tools like dbt for maintaining clean and reliable data pipelines
- Demonstrated ability to deploy models into production environments and familiarity with MLOps practices
- Knowledge of software engineering practices including CI/CD, version control (Git), and Jira
- Strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience or familiarity with GenAI models or AI agents in product or analytical workflows
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced machine learning models and predictive algorithms to address critical business challenges such as churn prediction, user segmentation, and product usage forecasting
- Serve as a technical expert, guiding best practices in statistical analysis, experimentation, and code quality across the team
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to translate ambiguous business questions into rigorous, actionable data science projects
- Champion the adoption of MLOps best practices, ensuring models are scalable, reproducible, and effectively monitored in production
- Perform in-depth analyses of user behavior and product performance to identify opportunities for optimization and growth
- Mentor and coach junior data scientists and analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation
- Communicate complex technical insights through compelling data storytelling and visualization tools to diverse stakeholders
