PrizePicks, a rapidly growing sports company, seeks a Senior Software Engineer with 8-10 years of experience to join their Overall Game Experience (OGX) team. This role focuses on designing, developing, and owning critical features for their React Native mobile application. Responsibilities include enhancing developer experience, managing deployment pipelines, leading large-scale refactors, and ensuring app performance. The engineer will also define the technical roadmap, mentor other engineers, and collaborate with stakeholders. Expertise in TypeScript, React Native, mobile development lifecycle, CI/CD, distributed systems, and API design is required. This is a fully remote position.

About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Overall Game Experience (OGX) team. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your expertise in TypeScript and React Native to design, develop, and own critical features within our mobile application. Your responsibilities will include enhancing developer experience through tooling, managing deployment pipelines, executing large-scale refactors, and ensuring optimal app health and performance. You will work on complex technical challenges, define the technical roadmap from conceptualization to deployment, and mentor engineers across the organization. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact on a product used by millions of users, shaping the future of fantasy sports and mobile gaming experiences.
Qualifications

  • 8–10 years of professional software engineering experience, with extensive hands-on experience building production React Native applications at scale
  • Proven track record of leading multiple complex technical initiatives and successfully delivering results across teams
  • Deep understanding of the full mobile development lifecycle, including architecture, build systems, deployment pipelines, and post-release monitoring
  • Experience developing mobile applications supported by large-scale, high-throughput distributed systems serving millions of users
  • Strong mentorship skills with a history of elevating engineering teams through standards-setting and technical leadership
  • Mastery-level proficiency in TypeScript, with a solid understanding of best practices, patterns, and type systems
  • Expertise in React Native, including performance optimization, native modules, complex animations, and cross-platform consistency
  • Experience with Expo and its ecosystem, monorepo tooling (Yarn workspaces), and mobile build/release infrastructure
  • Knowledge of mobile testing strategies, including Jest, Maestro for E2E testing, and automation tools
  • Proficiency with CI/CD workflows for mobile development, OTA updates, staged rollouts, and app store pipelines
  • Understanding of backend API design and integration, particularly with Go and Rails services
  • Ability to operate with full autonomy, make high-stakes decisions, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working in fully remote engineering environments

Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve the technical standards, architecture, and best practices for mobile features, ensuring scalability and maintainability
  • Lead the design and delivery of complex, high-scope projects requiring deep technical judgment and cross-system coordination
  • Improve team efficiency by enhancing developer tooling, build pipelines, and workflows to facilitate faster iteration and higher confidence in releases
  • Establish and enforce standards for component architecture, testing, accessibility, performance, and deployment across the mobile team
  • Mentor engineers at all levels, fostering technical growth and a culture of continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with engineering managers, product teams, and other senior engineers to align technical strategies with business goals
  • Ensure seamless integration between the mobile app and backend services, maintaining consistency in API contracts and data flow
  • Participate in on-call rotation, owning systemic reliability improvements and leading incident response efforts for critical production issues
