About The Role
The DevOps Engineer at TriWest Healthcare Alliance plays a vital role in managing and optimizing the company's deployment pipelines and infrastructure. This position involves working closely with application development teams to streamline code management, automate deployment processes, and enhance system reliability. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in CI/CD tools such as Microsoft Azure DevOps and Jenkins to support continuous integration and delivery across multiple projects. The role requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting, automation, and security integration, ensuring that all applications are deployed efficiently and securely in both Windows and Linux environments. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely within specified states and contribute to a mission-driven organization dedicated to serving our nation's heroes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Security, IT, or related field with relevant programming coursework, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2+ years in DevOps engineering, CI/CD pipeline development, or related infrastructure automation.
- At least 2+ years of experience with Azure DevOps pipelines, Git-based source control, and branching strategies.
- Proficiency with configuration management/automation tools such as Chef, Ansible, or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with cloud technologies, preferably Azure.
- Knowledge of SOA/web services integration and familiarity with ADO.NET.
- Experience deploying applications in Windows Server and/or Red Hat Linux environments.
- Strong scripting skills in PowerShell and Bash.
- Understanding of software build cycles, deployment best practices, and security hardening standards.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a favorable interim and final DoD background investigation.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support automated scripts for code deployment and infrastructure management.
- Support continuous integration and delivery processes across multiple development projects.
- Create and maintain automated deployment frameworks for web-based services and applications.
- Develop and update system documentation, user manuals, and process diagrams to ensure clarity and knowledge sharing.
- Provide on-call support for production systems, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance automation, security, and operational efficiency.
- Stay current with industry best practices and incorporate new tools and techniques to improve deployment pipelines.
- Assist in security compliance efforts, including application and OS hardening according to NIST, CIS, HIPAA, and VA standards.
