About The Role
The Data Analyst position at Fidelity Canada plays a pivotal role in supporting the organization’s data management and analytical needs. Working within a flexible hybrid schedule, the successful candidate will be responsible for gathering, organizing, analyzing, and supporting data requirements across IT projects. This role involves collaborating with project teams to ensure data lineage, transformations, and quality are maintained according to governance standards. The Data Analyst will identify and standardize data consumption sources, support automation initiatives, and oversee data feeds and master data management processes. The position demands a proactive approach to data validation, continuous improvement, and ensuring data compatibility across systems. Qualifications

  • Completed post-secondary education in IT, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • More than 1 year of experience as a data analyst working with complex data strategies
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, and Tableau
  • Experience with reporting tools including MS Access, Excel, and Oracle Business Intelligence
  • Strong understanding of data management principles, data governance, and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of data feed management and master data fields

Responsibilities

  • Identify, review, and catalogue all existing data consumption sources for various projects
  • Standardize data consumption formats and determine suitable data storage solutions in collaboration with data governance and architecture teams
  • Continuously improve data processes by eliminating redundant copies and supporting automation efforts
  • Oversee data feeds, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and timely updates
  • Document data requirements, data lineage, and transformations for project transparency and compliance
  • Perform ad-hoc data analyses and validate updates to critical data systems
  • Conduct regular reviews of data elements to ensure accuracy and consistency, including validation of service provider data
  • Recognize and respond promptly to data feed changes to maintain system compatibility
  • Support data governance initiatives and ensure adherence to regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with project teams, data stewards, and IT stakeholders to optimize data workflows
