About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our growing team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and scaling the core data infrastructure that powers Gopuff’s insights, experimentation, and operational excellence. As a key contributor, you will develop reliable data pipelines, create high-quality data products, and collaborate with cross-functional teams including analytics, product, and engineering to ensure data is trustworthy, accessible, and actionable. This is a hands-on, technical position ideal for an engineer passionate about solving complex data challenges at scale and making a tangible impact on business outcomes. The role offers an exciting opportunity to shape Gopuff’s modern data platform and contribute to our mission of delivering essentials swiftly and efficiently.
Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in data engineering or software engineering with a focus on data platform development
• Proven experience in building and scaling modern data platforms and delivering impactful data solutions
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
• Experience with cloud data warehouses and lakes such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks
• Experience designing batch pipelines with DAG-based orchestrators like Airflow or Dagster
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures using Kafka, Kinesis, or Event Hubs
• Experience developing real-time or streaming pipelines with Apache Beam, Flink, or Spark Streaming
• Hands-on experience deploying applications to Kubernetes and using tools like ArgoCD, Helm, or Istio
• Familiarity with DevOps practices including CI/CD, monitoring, and data lineage
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable batch and real-time data pipelines to support analytics, experimentation, and machine learning initiatives
• Contribute to the architecture and ongoing maintenance of Gopuff’s data platform, ensuring high performance, cost efficiency, and scalability
• Partner with analytics, product, engineering, and operations teams to deliver high-quality, reliable data solutions that drive measurable business impact
• Develop and curate well-modeled datasets serving as trusted sources of truth across the organization
• Implement best practices for data quality, reliability, and observability, including testing, monitoring, lineage, and incident response processes
• Contribute to establishing team standards, patterns, and best practices for data engineering
• Drive improvements in infrastructure, developer workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and data platform tooling to enhance efficiency and reliability
