About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will leverage your 8+ years of expertise in the full software development lifecycle to lead the design, development, and delivery of complex software solutions. You will be responsible for guiding development teams, establishing best practices, and ensuring the successful implementation of projects aligned with business objectives. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a high-performance environment, mentoring engineers, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. You will work closely with product owners, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into scalable, secure, and maintainable technology solutions. Your ability to drive clarity in ambiguous situations and prioritize competing efforts will be instrumental in delivering value to our clients and customers.
Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in software development and engineering leadership
  • Proficiency in Java and related technologies such as JMS, MDB, JPA (Hibernate)
  • Deep understanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA) and API development
  • Experience with containerized deployment environments and microservices architecture
  • Strong relational database skills with PostgreSQL and Oracle
  • Hands-on experience with XML/JSON web services
  • Familiarity with Java frameworks such as Spring (Boot, MVC, Security, Data) and Hibernate
  • Experience with distributed computing, object-oriented design, and analysis
  • Knowledge of enterprise messaging and integration patterns, including Apache Camel and ActiveMQ
  • Experience with high-volume, real-time applications and agile methodologies (Scrum)
  • Proficiency with version control tools like Git, build management tools such as Bamboo or GitHub Actions
  • Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and mentorship skills
  • Ability to prioritize, negotiate, and manage multiple projects effectively

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor development teams responsible for delivering prioritized roadmap items
  • Support and oversee all phases of Agile development, including grooming, designing, coding, and testing
  • Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality, flexible, and maintainable software solutions
  • Participate in design sessions, collaborating with product owners to ensure solutions meet business needs
  • Establish and enforce standards in coding, design, security, automation, and testing practices
  • Drive best practices in solution architecture, code quality, and deployment processes
  • Support the adoption of new technologies and facilitate continuous learning within the team
  • Create a respectful and engaging work environment that promotes innovation and growth
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and translate them into scalable solutions
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges, reducing ambiguity in project requirements
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and emerging technologies to inform strategic decisions
