About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our Trust & Loyalty organization, specifically within the Coinbase One subscription product team. This role requires a strategic thinker and technical leader who can architect and implement foundational solutions for our subscription services, drive technical excellence, and mentor engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have a passion for blockchain and crypto technologies, a proven track record of managing complex projects, and the ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams. As a key contributor, you will work closely with management and stakeholders to define strategic roadmaps, develop scalable systems, and ensure the operational health of our products. This position offers an exciting opportunity to impact the growth and engagement of Coinbase’s user base by building innovative solutions that enhance our subscription offerings and expand our global footprint.
Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering or related fields
• Proven experience in architecting and developing solutions for ambiguous and impactful problems
• Strong background in managing technical roadmaps and driving engineering excellence
• Experience building or scaling subscription, membership, or growth-related systems
• Knowledge of growth metrics such as conversion, activation, retention, and engagement
• Experience with A/B testing frameworks and experimentation methodologies
• Ability to responsibly utilize generative AI tools and copilots to improve workflows and deliverables
• Excellent coding skills with a focus on high-quality, well-tested code
• Strong mentorship and leadership capabilities, with a focus on design techniques and coding standards
• Experience working with diverse tech stacks and quickly adapting to new technologies

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement foundational solutions for the Coinbase One subscription product
• Provide technical guidance and structure to multiple teams, aligning efforts with strategic objectives
• Collaborate with management and stakeholders to define and execute technical roadmaps
