About The Role
This is a remote position within Embrace Software’s Finance and Banking group, which supports approximately 1,100 institutions across North America, including nearly 450 financial institutions such as credit unions and banks—ranging from top-tier national banks to regional community lenders. The role offers a unique opportunity for a senior or lead software engineer to influence and reshape the company's technology landscape. You will be at the forefront of modernizing legacy systems—such as VB.NET Web Forms and WinForms—by transitioning them into more modular, maintainable architectures using C# and .NET Core. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing new products and services utilizing cutting-edge tools like React, Typescript, MAUI, and RESTful APIs, while leveraging AI-native development tools to accelerate delivery without compromising quality. You will also own critical data layers, optimize SQL Server schemas, and ensure seamless system integrations. Collaborating closely with product managers, stakeholders, and infrastructure teams, you will drive architectural decisions, code reviews, and mentorship, shaping the future of the company’s software offerings.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of software development experience, including senior or lead roles
- Proficiency in C#, React, Typescript, MAUI, RESTful APIs, and SQL Server
- Hands-on experience with ASP.NET MVC or .NET Core frameworks
- Practical knowledge of Azure cloud services, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure deployment
- Familiarity with legacy systems such as VB.NET Web Forms and WinForms
- Experience working with AI-native tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, JetBrains AI, and Lovable
- Strong ownership mindset with excellent communication skills
- Ability to navigate and modernize legacy codebases thoughtfully
- Experience in designing scalable, reliable architectures and data schemas
Responsibilities
- Lead the modernization of legacy applications towards modular, customer-stable architectures without disruptive rip-and-replace strategies
- Design, develop, and deploy new products and services using modern frameworks and AI-native development tools
- Own and optimize the data layer by designing SQL Server schemas, writing efficient queries, and ensuring system performance
- Drive architectural discussions, participate in code reviews, and mentor engineering team members to uphold best practices
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into sustainable technical solutions
- Work closely with infrastructure teams on deployment strategies, monitoring, and maintaining production stability in cloud and private environments
- Participate in the development and refinement of CI/CD pipelines, Azure infrastructure, and basic cloud management tasks
