About The Role
The ServiceNow QA/Test Developer/Engineer is a vital member of our IT team, responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of ServiceNow platform solutions. This role involves developing and executing comprehensive testing strategies to validate new features, enhancements, and bug fixes on the ServiceNow platform. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams—including developers, product managers, and operations—to identify issues early, verify functionalities against business requirements, and promote continuous improvement in quality practices. This position offers the flexibility of remote work, with candidates required to reside in one of the specified states. As a key driver of quality assurance, the role involves building automated testing frameworks, analyzing defects, and contributing to agile development cycles, ensuring seamless and high-quality platform deployments.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on software testing or QA experience, including experience with ServiceNow or other complex enterprise applications.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and familiarity with ServiceNow development, including Glide scripting and configuration.
  • Experience with ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF) and ability to develop and maintain automated test scripts.
  • Solid understanding of QA methodologies, test types (functional, regression, UAT, performance), and defect management tools.
  • ServiceNow certifications such as Certified System Administrator (CSA) are highly preferred; additional certifications like Implementation Specialist or Application Developer are a plus.
  • QA certifications like ISTQB Certified Tester are advantageous.
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams and familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially in remote, cross-functional environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute detailed test plans and test cases for new ServiceNow features and enhancements, ensuring all functional and performance requirements are met.
  • Perform manual and automated testing, including functional, regression, and integration tests, utilizing ServiceNow’s Automated Test Framework and other tools.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects, collaborating with developers to analyze root causes and verify fixes promptly.
  • Work closely with developers, business analysts, and project managers throughout the development lifecycle to review requirements, assess testability, and ensure quality checkpoints are achieved.
  • Create and maintain automated test scripts to enhance test coverage and efficiency, integrating these into deployment pipelines for reliable, frequent releases.
  • Monitor testing activities, analyze quality metrics, and communicate progress, defect statuses, and potential risks to stakeholders clearly and effectively.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, to align testing efforts with sprint goals and release schedules.
  • Continuously research, evaluate, and implement new testing approaches and tools, leveraging ServiceNow platform features to optimize quality assurance processes.
  • Drive the establishment of best practices in testing, automation, and quality management within the team.
