About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Analyst with Power BI specialization to join our dynamic marketing analytics team. This fully remote role is open to candidates based in the UK or the US. As a Data Analyst / Power BI Specialist within the Wiley Marketing team, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining strategic data models that influence decision-making, evaluate campaign performance, and support our publishing initiatives. Your expertise will help translate complex data into clear, actionable insights through advanced Power BI dashboards and reports. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, design effective visualizations, and ensure data integrity and performance optimization. This role is pivotal in leveraging our rich data landscape to enhance marketing effectiveness and drive strategic growth.
Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in Data Modelling, Data Analysis, or a similar role
  • Proficiency in Power BI, including semantic models and Microsoft Fabric tools
  • Strong SQL skills for manipulating large datasets and writing complex queries
  • Experience with BigQuery or other data warehousing platforms
  • Knowledge of star schema design and best practices in data modeling
  • Understanding of data governance and data management principles
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Attention to detail and meticulous approach to data accuracy and report maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain shared semantic models in Power BI utilizing star schema design principles
  • Create and optimize SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from BigQuery databases for reporting purposes
  • Define and implement best practices for report and data management through Microsoft Fabric integrations
  • Review reports for performance, style consistency, and adherence to best practices, implementing improvements as needed
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to build and refine data models that enable efficient and accurate reporting and analysis
  • Support the wireframing and design process for new reports, providing guidance on visualization and user experience
  • Develop strategically insightful dashboards and reports that deliver actionable insights to support key decision-making processes
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across all reporting outputs
  • Stay updated with the latest BI tools, techniques, and industry best practices to continuously improve reporting solutions
