About The Role
The Commercial Data Analyst at Cardinal Health plays a pivotal role in supporting the Medical Segment’s sales, marketing, and pricing teams by transforming complex data sets into actionable insights. This position involves leveraging advanced analytics, automation, and visualization tools such as Excel, Alteryx, and Tableau to develop meaningful reports and solutions. The analyst acts as a trusted partner, working on multi-week projects and ad hoc requests to identify trends, uncover opportunities, and solve business problems. The role requires a combination of technical expertise, business acumen, and excellent communication skills to translate data into strategic recommendations that drive decision-making and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years of experience providing analytic support to sales and marketing teams
- Experience with requirements gathering and user acceptance testing
- Proficiency with relational databases, SQL, and data exploration tools; Alteryx experience preferred
- Ability to work with complex data environments and disparate data sources, including third-party data
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau
- Some experience with Salesforce.com
- Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset and ability to work independently
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute multi-week projects and handle ad hoc data analysis requests, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of insights
- Act as a consultant and product manager to develop, deliver, and maintain analytics solutions that meet business needs
- Identify business problems or opportunities by applying knowledge of data and processes, then design and develop reporting solutions accordingly
- Translate vague or complex business requests into concrete, actionable data deliverables
- Interpret analytical results to identify trends, issues, and opportunities, providing recommendations to support strategic objectives
- Utilize data aggregation, descriptive analysis, and visualization techniques to communicate findings effectively across various organizational levels
- Maintain clear communication with stakeholders, ensuring understanding of complex data insights and influencing decision-making
- Manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively to adapt to evolving business requirements
- Build and nurture relationships with stakeholders, establishing yourself as a trusted analytics partner within the organization
