About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join our dynamic team supporting U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) operations. This role is pivotal in transforming complex data into actionable insights through robust data manipulation, analysis, and visualization. The successful candidate will leverage technologies such as SQL, Python, Databricks, and Tableau to develop, maintain, and enhance reports, models, and analysis products. This position offers flexibility with remote work arrangements, with occasional requirement for in-person attendance at our client location in Camp Springs, MD. The ideal candidate will be highly proactive, detail-oriented, and innovative, with a strong analytical mindset and excellent communication skills. They will collaborate closely with team members and stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions that support USCIS operations and decision-making processes.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics, economics, data science, statistics, computer science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in data analysis using SQL and Python
  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to identify and resolve data issues
  • Experience with Databricks or similar cloud-based distributed database technologies
  • Proficiency in Tableau or Power BI for data visualization
  • Experience in cleaning, managing, optimizing performance, and processing large datasets
  • Ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously and prioritize effectively
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to clear a Public Trust clearance
  • Nice to have: prior experience with USCIS or immigration-related data

Responsibilities

  • Prepare big data sets and implement analytics models using SQL and Python within a Databricks environment
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance reports, analysis, and predictive models based on various data sources
  • Perform data mining, data profiling, and data preparation to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Lead or participate in data delivery projects, ensuring timely and accurate results
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on service operations using client data
  • Formulate hypotheses, test assumptions, and present findings in a clear, concise manner
  • Apply advanced statistical techniques to identify trends, anomalies, and forecast future outcomes
  • Assess data integrity and reasonableness, providing recommendations for improvements
  • Document analysis processes, summarize results, and develop actionable solutions for clients
  • Conduct needs and gaps assessments to identify opportunities for process and data improvements
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver tailored insights
  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in data analytics
