About The Role
We are currently seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our remote team. In this vital role, you will leverage your expertise in managed file transfer (MFT) and EDI X12 translations to support and enhance our healthcare transaction processing systems. Your responsibilities will include configuring, supporting, and maintaining environments and procedures for all supported applications, ensuring seamless and secure data exchange. You will act as a technical subject matter expert (SME) during escalated issues, develop and implement system solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational workflows. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing your problem-solving skills to ensure the stability and efficiency of critical healthcare systems.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with EDI X12 healthcare transactions using tools such as IBM Sterling Gentran and IBM ITXA.
  • At least 3 years of experience with managed file transfer configuration and support using tools like Axway SecureTransport and Sterling File Gateway.
  • Proficiency in VB/C Sharp .NET and Python scripting.
  • Experience supporting all phases of the system development life cycle including development, testing, QA, and production.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
  • Proactive attitude with a focus on continuous process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and configure file transfer and EDI environments to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Support out-of-hours processing to address and resolve failed transactions promptly.
  • Design and implement high-level solutions for file transfer jobs and EDI X12 transaction processing, ensuring service stability and compliance.
  • Act as a technical SME during escalated P1/P2 issues, providing expert guidance and troubleshooting support.
  • Develop new application configuration changes and processes within MFT and X12 transaction environments.
  • Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders when developing and implementing configuration change requests.
  • Document solutions, create flowcharts, diagrams, and detailed technical reports to facilitate knowledge sharing and future reference.
  • Conduct system analysis to recommend improvements in policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Monitor system performance, diagnose issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Support all phases of the system development lifecycle, including testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
