About The Role
The Lead/Principal Data Analyst at DaVita will play a pivotal role within the Clinical Analytics & Reporting (CA&R) team, supporting clinical and operational leadership through advanced data analysis and strategic insights. This role involves managing the entire analytical lifecycle for clinical initiatives, including designing studies, evaluating protocols, and developing models to inform clinical decision-making. The successful candidate will translate complex data into actionable insights, influence executive-level stakeholders, and contribute to clinical innovation efforts. This position offers an opportunity to lead analytical projects, mentor junior analysts, and stay at the forefront of emerging data science methodologies, all while working remotely in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in clinical data analysis, biostatistics, epidemiology, or related fields for Lead level; 7-10+ years for Principal level
  • Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Data Science, or a related discipline from an accredited university
  • Expertise in statistical and epidemiological methods, including study design and causal inference analysis
  • Proficiency in data analysis platforms and programming languages such as R, SAS, SQL, or similar tools
  • Experience querying large relational datasets and using data visualization/reporting tools like Tableau, Power BI, or IBM Cognos
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and develop strategic insights
  • Excellent communication skills to present findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including mentoring and guiding junior team members
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-performing environment

Responsibilities

  • Execute and influence the strategic analytical direction for clinical functions, independently resolving complex problems
  • Serve as the primary analytical support for multiple clinical initiatives, translating business questions into rigorous study designs
  • Develop and apply advanced statistical and epidemiologic models to answer complex clinical questions
  • Utilize multiple computational languages and tools to obtain, manage, and analyze clinical data effectively
  • Influence and communicate findings to executive leadership through clear, impactful presentations and reports
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration by socializing insights and fostering data-driven decision-making
  • Mentor and oversee the work of analysts within the team, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to best practices
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in clinical analytics and data science, recommending innovative approaches
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by reviewing and adopting new analytical methods and tools
