About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our dynamic team in a fully remote capacity. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting and enhancing our modern data platform built on Databricks. Your primary responsibility will be to develop scalable data pipelines, support metadata-driven data ingestion frameworks, and ensure the highest standards of data quality and governance are maintained across our systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced data technologies, contribute to strategic data initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate seamless data integration and management.
Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 5+ years of relevant experience without a degree
• Hands-on experience with PySpark and Databricks platform
• Strong SQL skills for data querying and manipulation
• Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines
• Understanding of Delta Lake concepts including merge, schema evolution, and partitions
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Azure
• Basic experience with Git and version control systems
• Exposure to data catalog or governance tools such as DataHub
• Experience with ingestion tools like Fivetran or similar platforms
• Knowledge of data quality, validation, and metadata-driven frameworks
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Ability to work within a structured, framework-driven environment
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-evolving data ecosystem

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines using PySpark and Databricks
• Support onboarding of new datasets within a metadata-driven ingestion framework
• Implement data quality checks and validation rules within pipelines to ensure data integrity
• Support data ingestion from file-based sources and ingestion tools such as Fivetran
• Handle schema changes, incremental loads, and file processing patterns efficiently
• Contribute to data governance practices, including tagging, metadata management, and lineage tracking
• Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline failures and performance issues proactively
• Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to understand data onboarding requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Follow and contribute to coding standards, reusable components, and best practices in data engineering
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of data pipelines, processes, and governance measures
• Continuously evaluate and improve data processes to enhance efficiency and reliability
