About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer (Java) to join our dynamic team responsible for implementing and maintaining applications within the Cash Payments processing platform. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in operationalizing technical and managerial processes, developing business support systems, and ensuring the robustness of our operational infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to influence how the Operations Technology team retains and engages its client base within the Capital Markets Cash Settlements domain. The ideal candidate will analyze business requirements, translate them into system designs, and generate technical specifications to support ongoing development and maintenance efforts. You will be expected to build modular, reusable code components, act as a technical resource for modeling and analysis, and leverage industry best practices to ensure quality, security, and compliance. Additionally, the role involves managing deployments through Jenkins, preparing release procedures, and coordinating communication across various enterprise units. Flexibility, adaptability, and excellent organizational skills are essential to thrive in this evolving environment and meet project milestones effectively.
Qualifications

  • 5+ years of server-side development experience with Java and Spring framework
  • 2+ years of experience with database querying using SQL, preferably Oracle
  • 2+ years of recent project exposure to RESTful services
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and best practices
  • Experience with deployment automation tools such as Jenkins
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of the payments domain is a plus
  • Experience with microservice architecture is preferred
  • Oracle SQL tuning and performance optimization skills are advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into system and application designs
  • Develop technical specifications to guide coding and support activities post-implementation
  • Build modular, reusable, and maintainable code components
  • Act as a technical expert for modeling, simulation, and analysis tasks
  • Ensure adherence to industry best practices, security, and compliance standards
  • Manage and monitor deployment processes using Jenkins and other automation tools
  • Prepare and review UAT and production release procedures in collaboration with Change Management
  • Implement production releases while mitigating risks and establishing contingency plans
  • Adapt quickly to changing project requirements and environments
  • Coordinate communication across enterprise units impacting scope, budget, and risk
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with project teams and business stakeholders
  • Ensure project milestones are met by applying effective planning and management techniques
