About The Role
The Lead/Principal Data Analyst position is a critical role within DaVita's Clinical Analytics & Reporting (CA&R) team. This role involves designing, developing, and executing advanced analytical solutions to support clinical and operational leadership, including the Pharmaceutical Operations team. The successful candidate will drive the entire analytical lifecycle for clinical initiatives, from study design to data evaluation, providing actionable insights that influence strategic decisions and clinical innovations. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills to translate complex data into meaningful narratives for executive leadership. The Lead/Principal Data Analyst will also mentor junior team members, oversee analysis plans, and stay abreast of emerging data science methods to ensure best practices are adopted across the team.
Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in clinical data analysis, biostatistics, epidemiology, or related quantitative fields for Lead level; 7-10+ years for Principal level.
  • Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Data Science, or a related field from an accredited university.
  • Expert-level proficiency in statistical and epidemiological methods, including study design and causal inference analysis.
  • Proficiency in advanced data analysis platforms or languages such as R, SAS, SPSS, or equivalent.
  • Strong SQL skills for querying large relational datasets and experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or IBM Cognos.
  • Proven ability to independently master additional programming languages or platforms as required.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to derive insights from unstructured or disparate data sources.
  • Excellent communication skills to present complex findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership qualities, with experience mentoring or supervising junior analysts preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and influence the strategic analytical direction for clinical functions, independently resolving complex problems and contributing to cross-functional initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary analytical support for multiple clinical projects, translating business questions into rigorous study designs using advanced epidemiologic and biostatistical techniques.
  • Develop and implement advanced statistical and epidemiologic models to address complex clinical questions, utilizing languages such as R and SQL.
  • Communicate complex analytical findings to executive leadership and stakeholders, simplifying insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement by socializing findings across teams and influencing management processes to achieve meaningful results.
  • Mentor and guide team members, overseeing analysis plans, reviewing code, and ensuring technical excellence within the team.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and innovations in clinical analytics, data science, and statistical methodologies, promoting continuous improvement and adoption of best practices.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to support data-driven initiatives that enhance patient care and organizational efficiency.
