About The Role
HERE is seeking a mid-junior DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic infrastructure team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing our CI/CD pipelines and cloud operations. This position offers a unique opportunity to work across multiple aspects of infrastructure automation, cloud deployment, and container orchestration. The role involves maintaining and improving our GitHub and GitLab CI/CD pipelines, supporting AWS cloud infrastructure, and contributing to our evolving multi-cloud architecture, including migration towards Kubernetes. The DevOps Engineer will collaborate closely with senior engineers, gaining mentorship and ownership of projects that impact our development velocity and operational reliability. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about modern build engineering, cloud infrastructure, and automation, seeking practical experience in a production environment with a focus on scalable, secure, and efficient systems.
Qualifications

  • 2 to 4 years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitLab CI/CD and YAML configuration
  • Practical knowledge of AWS services including EC2, ECS/Fargate, RDS, Route53, VPC, IAM, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, and Node.js
  • Hands-on experience with Docker containers, Dockerfiles, docker-compose, and container networking
  • Understanding of build systems including npm/Node.js, .NET/NuGet, Python packaging
  • Strong Git fundamentals, including branching strategies, merge requests, tagging, and workflows
  • Comfortable working in both Linux/Unix and Windows environments, with knowledge of SSH, systemd, file permissions, and PowerShell
  • Experience with multi-platform automation and infrastructure scripting

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and optimize GitLab and GitHub CI/CD pipelines for multi-platform builds (Windows, macOS, Linux)
  • Configure and manage pipeline stages, artifacts, rules, and deployment workflows
  • Maintain and enhance AWS infrastructure components including ECS/Fargate, RDS, Route53, VPC, and IAM policies
  • Support multi-tenant and multi-region architecture to ensure high availability and scalability
  • Manage containerization workflows using Docker, ECS task definitions, and ECR repositories
  • Deploy and monitor containerized Node.js applications in production environments
  • Coordinate release processes, including version promotion, release channels (canary, beta, stable), and automated deployment pipelines
  • Support database management tasks such as backups, SSH tunneling, user permissions, and configuration for PostgreSQL on AWS RDS
  • Develop automation scripts to enhance infrastructure reliability and streamline developer workflows
  • Maintain and improve web-based DevOps tools built with Express.js, React, and TypeScript for cloud management, tenant provisioning, and deployment monitoring
