Role summary
UKG is seeking an experienced Experience Architect to define and oversee enterprise-wide experience architecture for AI-enabled systems. About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Experience Architect to define and oversee the enterprise-wide experience architecture for AI-enabled systems at UKG. This strategic role is pivotal in ensuring the coherence, scalability, and trustworthiness of AI interactions across the organization. Unlike roles focused solely on building AI models, this position operates within Strategy and Enablement, establishing standards, interaction models, and governance frameworks that guide how AI capabilities are integrated and experienced across multiple platforms and business functions. The Experience Architect will work horizontally across initiatives, collaborating with product, engineering, data, and enterprise AI teams to create unified, human-centric interaction patterns. The goal is to prevent fragmentation and ensure a seamless, trustworthy experience as AI expands within UKG’s ecosystem. This role is essential for aligning AI-driven workflows with enterprise principles, fostering long-term experience health, and supporting UKG’s AI transformation journey.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in experience design, service design, systems design, product architecture, or enterprise UX roles
- Proven experience designing and mapping complex, cross-system workflows spanning multiple platforms or business functions
- Exposure to AI-enabled systems, automation platforms, decision-support tools, or intelligent workflows in enterprise environments
- Experience defining interaction models beyond visual artifacts, including decision logic, exception handling, escalation paths, and automation flows
- Ability to influence product and engineering teams during early-stage architecture, roadmap planning, or concept development
- Strong systems thinking skills with the ability to identify patterns and translate them into scalable frameworks or standards
- Experience working within enterprise SaaS, B2B platforms, or large-scale internal systems
- Effective communication skills for technical stakeholders, including APIs, data flows, automation triggers, and system constraints
- Experience facilitating cross-functional workshops or working sessions to align stakeholders on workflow and interaction strategies
- Proven ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments while maintaining clarity and alignment
Responsibilities
- Define enterprise principles for human–AI collaboration, including assistive, automated, escalation, override, and transparency models
- Architect cross-system workflows that integrate multiple products, business functions, and automation layers
- Establish reusable AI interaction standards, governance frameworks, and experience guardrails to ensure consistency and trust
- Shape early-stage solution designs to align with enterprise interaction principles and long-term experience goals
- Identify systemic patterns across initiatives and develop scalable frameworks to promote standardization
- Partner with senior leadership to influence the enterprise AI strategy and experience governance models
- Enable product teams by providing durable patterns, standards, and best practices rather than owning feature delivery
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure AI integrations adhere to established principles and frameworks
- Monitor and evaluate the ongoing health of AI interactions, recommending improvements for coherence and trust
