About The Role
The Lead Data Analyst, Pharmacy, plays a pivotal role in aligning data analytics initiatives with the strategic objectives of the pharmacy business unit. This position is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive analytics solutions that support pharmacy operations, financial performance, and strategic planning. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand business needs, translate them into analytical requirements, and develop insights that inform decision-making at all levels of the organization. As a subject matter expert, the Lead Data Analyst will lead efforts to establish best practices in data governance, reporting, and analytical methodologies, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and actionable insights across pharmacy functions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Business, or related field; or equivalent work experience (additional 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree)
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in progressively responsible analytical or quantitative roles
- At least 5 years of experience in data analytics, including developing dashboards and executive reports
- Experience working within the healthcare industry
- Knowledge of data governance, data modeling, data management, and data curation principles
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders
- Working knowledge of cloud architecture, particularly Azure and/or AWS, and major native data components
- Proficiency in relational databases, SQL, and at least one major RDBMS
- Experience with analytics tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, SAS, and Excel
- Hands-on experience with Big Data/NoSQL platforms and delivering scalable production projects
- Understanding of advanced analytics, AI/ML applications, and predictive modeling
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to train and mentor team members and stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain recurring reports, executive dashboards, and data visualizations to support daily pharmacy operations and strategic initiatives
- Create clear narratives and visual representations of data insights to communicate trends, operational performance, and key metrics effectively
- Interpret statistical and analytical outputs to help pharmacy leaders derive meaningful insights aligned with business goals
- Formulate hypotheses, research questions, and analytical roadmaps based on pharmacy business needs and priorities
- Establish and uphold data definitions, analytic frameworks, and governance practices to ensure data accuracy and consistency
- Partner with internal teams (Finance, Legal, Compliance, Strategy) and external stakeholders to understand requirements, develop solutions, and communicate progress
- Design and implement analytic solutions such as segmentation, modeling, decision aids, and dashboards to support operational and strategic decisions
- Support retrospective analyses, variance investigations, and financial reconciliation efforts to ensure transparency and accountability in pharmacy performance
- Mentor and guide less experienced staff, and potentially lead matrixed project teams to achieve analytics objectives
