Syncrasys AI is a funded started Headquarted in Nova Scotia with Subsidiary offices in Graz, Austria. We are developing the next generation of Civilian Security situational awareness and threat detection products running both in the cloud and on embedded devices ensuring functionality irrespective of network availability. We are currently in PoC planning aiming to launch MVP in 2027.
Role Description
As the Chief Data Scientist at SyncraSys, you will lead the design and execution of advanced data science projects, leveraging cutting-edge methodologies to enhance the capabilities of our platform. You will spearhead the application of data analytics, develop and computer vision and signal categorisation models, and refine algorithms for object recognition, stance and gait analysis and crowd behaviour. You will be responsible for building up an internal team and managing external contractors and partners. This is a full-time on-site role based in Halifax, Nova Scotia initially with some flexibility on long term location as the European market is also a primary focus for us. requiring close collaboration with developers, engineers, and stakeholders to support innovation and maintain leadership in the industry.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science and Data Science concepts, with a focus on software development and system design.
- Expertise in Statistics and Analytical Skills, empowering the ability to interpret, analyze, and derive actionable insights from complex datasets.
- Proficiency in Pattern Recognition, particularly in designing models that enhance data processing and predictive analytics.
- Experience leading data science projects, managing a team, and delivering innovative solutions.
- Master or Phd in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or C#, along with knowledge of open-source software development and mchine learning pipelines and the development and usage of synthetic data.
- Strong problem-solving skills, leadership qualities, and excellent communication abilities to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Understanding of the civilian security space.
