Role summary

Synectics Inc. is seeking an Associate Test Engineer for a 2nd shift role (3 PM - 12:30 AM) with potential overtime. The position involves testing and troubleshooting mechanical assemblies and systems, developing test specifications, preparing technical reports, and maintaining test tooling. The role requires a minimum of 2-4 years of related experience, strong mechanical, electrical, and software skills, and experience with digital/analog systems testing. The ability to read complex drawings and use various measuring instruments is essential. A degree or equivalent training is a plus, and the role requires the ability to lift 50 lbs.

Job Description

  • 2nd Shift Hours: 3-4:00 PM to 12:30 AM + OT required
  • Maintain tool schedules, complete alignment processes (milestones) per defined test times - work assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems
  • Support tool progression priorities -tests and troubleshoots assemblies and/or final systems
  • As required, prepares technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems
  • Maintain test tooling, sending/receiving tooling to complete daily work activities (3rd party calibration)
  • Performs the build, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of mechanical assemblies at a system level.
  • Determines and may develop test specifications, methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and diagrams.
  • Tests and troubleshoots assemblies and/or final systems.
  • May complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing.
  • Prepares technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems.
  • May assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment.

Qualifications

  • An AA degree, military technical training or their equivalent vocational training is a plus
  • Will accept HS diploma with equivalent experience
  • Lift 50 lb requirement
  • A minimum of 2 - 4 years of related experience.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical and software sills.
  • Opto assembly BIG system level.
  • Requires experience in testing digital and/or analog systems
  • Ability to read complicated drawings, mathematics, handbook formulas, and a variety of testing and measuring instruments

Technical Certification Bonus:
Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
