Role summary

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Firewall Policy Engineer to manage critical firewall infrastructure, develop policies, and lead compliance initiatives using Palo Alto and VMware NSX Distributed Firewall platforms. This role requires a networking-focused engineer with expertise in enterprise firewall policy management, reviews, and remediation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of network security architecture and best practices, with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. Flexibility for night and weekend shift support is necessary. Preferred qualifications include experience with Tufin, automation using Python/Terraform, and large-scale policy migrations.

Enterprise Firewall Policy Engineer

About the Role:

We're seeking an experienced \*\*Enterprise Firewall Policy Engineer\*\* to join our team in a fast-paced enterprise environment. This role involves managing critical firewall infrastructure, policy development, and compliance initiatives across Palo Alto and VMware NSX Distributed Firewall platforms. You're a networking-focused engineer with a passion for security infrastructure. You thrive in collaborative team environments, maintain high attention to detail, and bring a strong work ethic and enthusiasm to complex technical challenges.

\*\*Note:\*\* This position requires flexibility for night and weekend shift support as part of our operational team rotation.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and VMware NSX Distributed Firewalls in large enterprise environments
  • Demonstrated expertise in Enterprise Firewall policy management and migration projects
  • Proven experience with firewall policy reviews, compliance assessments, and remediation
  • Strong understanding of enterprise network security architecture and best practices
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related analytical field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recent, direct experience with VMware NSX DFW policy management (not hardware administration)
  • Palo Alto firewall certifications (PCNSE or equivalent)
  • Experience with Tufin or similar firewall policy compliance tools
  • Automation experience using Python and/or Terraform for firewall rule management and reporting
  • Track record with large-scale policy migrations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage enterprise firewall policies across Palo Alto and VMware NSX environments
  • Lead firewall policy reviews and compliance remediation efforts
  • Create and troubleshoot firewall rules to support business requirements
  • Collaborate with security and network teams on policy optimization and compliance
  • Support operational tasks during evening and weekend shifts as needed
