Role summary
Tasklet is building a cloud agent OS for work, enabling agents to execute complex workflows in real-time. They are seeking a world-class Staff Software Engineer to own their entire infrastructure foundation. This role requires deep experience operating production infrastructure at scale, exceptional AI-native programming skills, and expertise in building and running high-traffic Kubernetes clusters. The ideal candidate will have strong CS fundamentals, a full-stack understanding across networking, storage, and compute, and a product-oriented approach to reliability and cost optimization, particularly for GPU and compute-intensive workloads.
**IMPORTANT: the best way to apply is by submitting a video application by following the instructions on [our jobs page here](https://tasklet.notion.site/Careers-at-Tasklet-2a3688565308819fa2f7e9440b5729fa).**
At [Tasklet](https://tasklet.ai/), we’re building the cloud agent OS for work. Our agents run code, browse the web, connect to thousands of services, and execute complex multi-step workflows — all in real time. The infrastructure underneath needs to be fast, reliable, and able to scale dramatically. We believe we can be the main app that most knowledge workers use for everything.
We’re looking for a staff-level infrastructure engineer to own the entire foundation Tasklet runs on. This is a foundational leadership role with very generous equity — we need someone truly world-class.
## Compensation
* $280k → $380k salary
* 0.40% → 0.80% equity
* Competitive benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k, 4 weeks PTO, free lunch, etc)
## Responsibilities
* Own our Kubernetes-based serving infrastructure, including APIs, content serving, job queues, etc and make it scale to millions of concurrent agent sessions
* Design our observability and alerting stack — when something goes wrong, we need to know immediately and fix it fast
* Own disaster recovery and ensure we can survive anything without losing user data or trust
* Drive cost optimization relentlessly — we run expensive GPU and compute workloads, and every dollar matters at a startup
## Our ideal candidate
* Very strong CS fundamentals & deep experience operating production infrastructure at scale
* Exceptional, AI-native programming skills using an ultra-modern stack
* You’re AGI-pilled & deep into relevant AI tech
* You’ve built and run Kubernetes clusters that handle serious traffic — not just toy deployments
* You think about reliability as a product feature, not just an ops concern
* You’re comfortable across the full stack — networking, storage, compute, observability
* You could easily be a staff infrastructure engineer at a top AI lab — but you want the outsized impact of a startup, and you believe Tasklet can win
