Role summary

TeamHealth is seeking a Data Analyst for its Behavioral Health Service Line to join the Business Analytics team. This role will focus on measuring, analyzing, and reporting on strategic initiatives to improve care quality, operational efficiency, and stakeholder satisfaction. The Data Analyst will define key performance metrics, analyze clinical and operational data, and develop dashboards using Power BI or Tableau. Responsibilities include data collection, preparation, querying, cleaning, exploration, and visualization, as well as supporting leadership in monitoring quality initiatives and service line performance. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree, 2-3 years of data analytics experience (preferably in healthcare), and strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

OVERVIEW:
The Data Analyst – Behavioral Health Service Line will work with the Business Analytics team to support the measurement, analysis, and reporting of strategic initiatives across the Behavioral Health service line. This role will help advance quality of care, improve operational efficiency, and enhance clinician and facility partner satisfaction through data analysis and visualization.
The Data Analyst will report to the Behavorial Health Service Line team and collaborate with behavioral health leadership, clinical operations, and cross-functional stakeholders to define key performance metrics, analyze clinical and operational data, and develop dashboards and reports that support data-driven decision making.
The Business Analytics team partners with leaders across the organization to define meaningful metrics, validate and analyze data sources, and provide actionable insights that support growth, quality improvement, and operational excellence across multiple service lines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the collection, preparation, and analysis of behavioral health and operational data, including business rule development, data querying, data cleaning, data exploration, and data visualization
  • Analyze behavioral health clinical, operational, and quality metrics to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas of operational efficiency
  • Collect, integrate, and analyze data from multiple internal and external datasets (clinical documentation systems, billing data, operational systems) to deliver meaningful insights
  • Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and visualizations that track key behavioral health performance indicators such as clinician productivity, service utilization, quality measures, and facility-level performance
  • Support leadership in monitoring quality initiatives, clinical programs, and service line performance through data reporting and analysis
  • Enhance decision making and improve processes through statistical analysis and data visualization
  • Solve complex problems and propose clear, actionable solutions by drawing insights from data, thinking critically, and evaluating multiple scenarios
  • Provide recommendations to improve data collection processes, reporting structures, and dashboard designs to better support clinical and operational teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including clinical leadership, operations, and finance to ensure reporting aligns with strategic priorities
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar field
- Two to three years of experience working in data analytics field, ideally in healthcare
- Experience designing and building dashboards in Tableau or Power BI (*required*)
- Strong command of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills and desire to solve technical challenges
- Be curious and a self-starter who can work independently or as part of a team prioritizing deliverables and meeting deadlines with minimal oversight
- Keen attention to detail
