Azure infrastructure Engineer/ Azure Local VDI
Role summary
Seeking a skilled Azure Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) to design, deploy, and manage secure, scalable Azure environments. Responsibilities include managing Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), deploying and maintaining Azure infrastructure (VMs, storage, networking, identity), optimizing VDI solutions, configuring Azure AD, implementing networking components, monitoring performance, automating deployments with IaC tools, ensuring security compliance, and collaborating on workload migrations. The role requires L2/L3 support for Azure and VDI incidents.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Azure Infrastructure Engineer with strong expertise in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) to design, deploy, and manage secure, scalable, and high-performing Azure-based environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Azure services, virtualization technologies, and enterprise-level infrastructure management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage
Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
environments
- Deploy and maintain Azure infrastructure including VMs, storage, networking, and identity services
- Manage and optimize
Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
solutions for performance and cost efficiency
- Configure and manage
Azure Active Directory (AAD)
and hybrid identity setups
- Implement and maintain
networking components
such as VNets, NSGs, VPNs, and ExpressRoute
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability
- Automate infrastructure deployment using
ARM templates, Terraform, or PowerShell
- Ensure compliance with security policies, patching, and governance standards
- Collaborate with IT teams for migration of on-premises workloads to Azure
- Provide L2/L3 support for Azure and VDI-related incidents
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- 3–7+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure or system engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with
Microsoft Azure
services
- Experience with
Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
or other VDI technologies (e.g., Citrix, VMware Horizon)
- Knowledge of
Windows Server
, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
- Experience with
Azure networking
and security best practices
- Familiarity with scripting languages like
PowerShell
or
Azure CLI
- Understanding of backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring tools
- Experience with
Intune / Endpoint Manager
is a plus
Preferred Certifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty (preferred)
