We are seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer to architect and scale next-generation AI-powered financial systems. This hybrid role in San Francisco requires high ownership and expertise in complex distributed systems. Responsibilities include end-to-end platform system architecture, building scalable AI-driven financial software, leading engineering initiatives, driving system reliability, and defining technical strategy. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience with Python (Django, Flask, FastAPI), TypeScript, React, Docker, AWS/GCP, distributed systems, PostgreSQL, Redis, REST APIs, GraphQL, and cloud deployment.

We are looking for a highly experienced Staff Software Engineer to architect and scale next-generation AI-powered financial systems. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-ownership environments, enjoys solving complex distributed systems challenges, and can lead projects from concept to production.

Responsibilities

  • Own and architect core platform systems end-to-end
  • Build scalable AI-driven software solutions for financial workflows
  • Lead large-scale engineering initiatives and technical decision-making
  • Drive system reliability, scalability, and engineering best practices
  • Partner with leadership and product teams on technical strategy
  • Build reusable infrastructure, tooling, and abstractions

Required Skills

✅ 8+ years of software engineering experience

✅ Strong expertise in Python (Django, Flask, FastAPI)

✅ Strong frontend experience with TypeScript & React

✅ Experience with Docker, AWS/GCP, distributed systems

✅ Strong database experience (PostgreSQL, Redis)

✅ REST APIs, GraphQL, cloud deployment expertise

✅ Excellent communication and leadership skills
