Our client is hiring for a Senior UX Designers to support digital service delivery initiatives within the Labour and Transportation Cluster. This hybrid role focuses on delivering user-centred, accessible, and evidence-based digital services following the Ontario Digital Service Design Playbook. Designers will work across Discovery, Alpha, Beta, and Live phases, collaborating closely with product owners, developers, and business stakeholders in an Agile environment to design and continuously improve public-facing digital services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support end-to-end UX activities across Discovery, Alpha, Beta, and Live delivery phases
- Facilitate discovery activities including stakeholder workshops, user research, personas, journey mapping, problem definition, and service blueprints
- Plan and conduct user research and usability testing, synthesize findings, and produce research reports
- Design and test low- and high-fidelity prototypes to validate hypotheses and inform solution direction
- Support design sprints and experimentation to explore and validate multiple solution options
- Define UX inputs to business proposals, KPIs, and feature prioritization
- Create and validate user stories and design artifacts to support Agile delivery
- Participate in Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, reviews, and retrospectives
- Conduct accessibility and usability testing throughout Beta and Live phases
- Analyze user behaviour and analytics to support continuous improvement of live services
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align design, business, and technical perspectives
Must haves
- Senior-level experience applying UX best practices across complex digital products or services
- Strong experience with mobile-first and responsive design
- Minimum 3 years of experience working on complex projects using user-centred design and Agile (Scrum) methodologies
- Proven experience facilitating user research and usability testing, including interviews, synthesis, and reporting
- Hands-on experience producing UX deliverables such as personas, journey maps, storyboards, service blueprints, prototypes, and user stories
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience working collaboratively with product owners, developers, and business teams
- Proficiency with UX design tools such as Figma, Axure, Sketch, InVision, Adobe Creative Cloud, Zeplin, or similar
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills
Nice to haves
- Experience conducting accessibility compliance testing
- Familiarity with Ontario Digital Service or similar public-sector design methodologies
- Front-end knowledge including HTML5, CSS3, or JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular
- Experience supporting change management and adoption during digital transformation initiatives
- Background working on public-sector or large enterprise digital services
