Role summary
Bcore is seeking a Data Engineer to join their Mission Services division in Reston, VA. This hybrid role involves building and maintaining data ingestion systems, databases, and cloud infrastructure to support critical government missions. Responsibilities include ensuring high availability and performance of databases, developing ingestion pipelines using Python and SQL, and supporting CI/CD processes. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with ETL, SQL Server administration, cloud infrastructure, and security best practices. Experience with Snowflake and regulated data environments is preferred. This role requires a TS/SCI with Poly clearance.

Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain Data Ingestion systems and processes for critical workflows
- Provide continuous monitoring, maintenance, and operational support for databases and related systems to ensure high availability, reliability, and acceptable performance.
- Build and maintain ingestion pipelines, Snowflake data warehouse, SQL Server database instances, supporting cloud infrastructure, , and dbt transformation processes.
- Monitor completion of data ingestion jobs for customer medical information and resolve operational issues related to data ingest and processing.
- Monitor and report on server and database availability, performance, and capacity utilization, providing proactive recommendations to support organizational growth.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Strong experience working with Python and SQL in relation to ETL processes.
- Hands‑on experience with SQL Server administration and database development.
- Experience supporting data ingestion and transformation tools.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, IAM, security best practices, and vulnerability management.
- Proven ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance and costs.
- Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and structured change management processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong experience administering and engineering Snowflake data warehouse environments.
- Experience supporting healthcare or regulated data environments.
- Familiarity with HIPAA or similar compliance frameworks.
- Strong documentation, communication, and cross‑team collaboration skills.
