Role summary
Tensility is seeking a Business Systems & Automation Engineer to enhance operational efficiency through software development, system administration, and process automation. The role involves writing Python scripts for database integration and automation, developing and customizing Odoo applications, and building website functionalities with e-commerce integrations like Shopify. Responsibilities also include managing network environments, Azure cloud resources, and Microsoft 365. The ideal candidate will possess strong Python skills, experience with Odoo and e-commerce platforms, knowledge of Azure and M365, and excellent documentation and problem-solving abilities. Overview:
Tensility seeks a versatile Business Systems & Automation Engineer to drive efficiency and innovation across our operations. This role blends software development, system administration, and business process automation to streamline workflows, maintain core systems, and support technical operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write Python scripts to integrate, automate, and maintain databases across multiple platforms.
- Develop, customize, and manage Odoo applications; troubleshoot user issues and optimize workflows.
- Design and implement business-wide automation solutions to improve operational efficiency. Includes developing and maintaining website functionality, including automations that integrate with Shopify and other e-commerce platforms.
- Manage a small-scale network environment, including user workstations, printers, Azure cloud resources, and Microsoft 365 products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and implement technical solutions.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users as needed.
- Document processes, solutions, and workflows thoroughly to ensure knowledge is shared across the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Experience with database integration/automation.
- Hands-on experience with Odoo development, customization, and troubleshooting.
- Experience developing website functionality and integrations with Shopify or similar e-commerce platforms.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals, Azure, and Microsoft 365 administration.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent documentation skills and ability to maintain clear records of processes and technical solutions.
- Ability to understand complex or vague problems and propose reasonable, practical solutions.
- Transparency in work style and collaboration; comfortable sharing progress, challenges, and plans with the team.
- Ability to identify automation opportunities and implement solutions across multiple systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud automation or SaaS integrations.
- Exposure to IT support, user training, or system administration in small business environments.
- Familiarity with additional programming languages or web frameworks.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
