
Data Analyst - In-Field Preach My Gospel Training (Part-Time)
Role summary
This part-time Data Analyst role supports missionary training efforts by providing operational insights to increase efficiency and effectiveness. The analyst will solve complex problems using technology, partner with Research and Evaluation to provide analysis and insights that help training scale and support strategic goals. Responsibilities include analyzing missionary training data from programs in PowerApps using tools like R, Python, SQL, and Tableau to determine training effectiveness, and developing processes and reporting to measure training impact. The role may also involve developing technology solutions for online training. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Manager of Analytics and Reporting.
This position is central to the missionaries' role to 'Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.' Training analysts are individual contributors. This role supports missionary training efforts by providing operational insights to increase efficiency and effectiveness, solving complicated problems using technology, partnering with Research and Evaluation in providing analysis and insights that help missionary training efforts scale and support the strategic goals of the Missionary Department.
Reports to the Manager of Analytics and Reporting in the Missionary Department.
- Provides transparency, insights, and recommendations to inform operational decision-making and planning.
- Evaluates onboarding experience and tools to effectively train leaders, tutors, mentors, teachers, and training coordinators on necessary knowledge and skills.
- Partners with MTC Research and Evaluation on key outcome efforts.
- Using analytics tools (R, Python, SQL), analyzes missionary training data from programs in PowerApps to determine use and effectiveness of training and provide visualizations of findings in Tableau.
- Synthesizes complex information into clear takeaways and recommendations using qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Develops processes and reporting to measure the outputs, outcomes, and impact of training.
- May use programming languages to develop technology solutions for online training.
- May include additional tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Required:
- Experience with data processing software (such as Tableau, SQL, R, PowerApps, Python, etc.)
- Experience with data-driven decision making
- Ability to plan time effectively to both independently manage and collaborate on multiple projects and clients simultaneously
- Must have exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills (written, virtual, and verbal)
- Self-starter, innovative, always learning
- Must be proactive, organized, and detail-oriented
- To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using monitors/equipment
