About the Role

We are seeking a talented AWS Cloud Engineer to join our team and play a key role in our AWS migration and modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will focus on transforming traditional on-premises workloads into cloud-optimized solutions utilizing various migration approaches and modern cloud-native implementations. You'll be a collaborative problem-solver with excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.

This position is remote, but you must reside in Kentucky.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Modernize on-premises applications and infrastructure for AWS cloud environments.
  • Design cloud-native solutions using serverless (Lambda, API Gateway) and microservices architectures.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation, AWS CDK or Terraform.
  • Implement complete CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy.
  • Migrate databases to AWS RDS/Aurora and modernize file systems from UNC paths to S3.
  • Build event-driven architectures using SQS, SNS, and EventBridge with scalable load balancing.
  • Collaborate with teams to analyze legacy systems and deliver modernized cloud solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience with cloud technologies.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and database design/optimization.
  • AWS Database Services: RDS, Aurora, including migration and performance tuning.
  • AWS DevOps: CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy for complete CI/CD implementation.
  • AWS Serverless & APIs: Lambda and API Gateway for modern architecture patterns.
  • Infrastructure as Code: CloudFormation, AWS CDK, or Terraform experience.
  • AWS Core Services: EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch.
  • Cloud Architecture: Microservices, event-driven patterns (SQS, SNS, EventBridge).
  • Containerization: Docker, ECS experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
