Role summary

IEM is seeking a Sustainability Program Analyst in Jacksonville, FL; Ashburn, VA; or Phoenix, AZ to support its sustainability and ESG initiatives within a manufacturing environment. This role requires 2-3 years of experience in sustainability or data analysis, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and experience with data tools like Excel. The analyst will manage sustainability data, track emissions (Scope 1, 2, 3), support ESG reporting frameworks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Preferred qualifications include exposure to sustainability frameworks and data visualization tools. The position offers hands-on experience in sustainability strategy and operations.

IEM is seeking a Sustainability Program Analyst for Jacksonville, FL; Ashburn, VA; Phoenix, AZ to support the execution and growth of our sustainability and ESG initiatives. This role is ideal for a professional with strong analytical skills and an interest in sustainability within a manufacturing environment.

Working closely with the Director of Sustainability and cross-functional teams, this role will contribute to sustainability data management, reporting, and program coordination. The Analyst will help translate sustainability goals into actionable initiatives, support emissions tracking (Scope 1, 2, and 3), and assist with regulatory and customer-driven ESG requirements.

This position offers hands-on exposure to sustainability strategy, data systems, and operational initiatives in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities

Program & Initiative Support

  • Support the coordination and execution of sustainability programs and initiatives.
  • Assist in tracking project timelines, milestones, and KPIs across multiple initiatives.
  • Help maintain documentation such as program plans, trackers, and status updates.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (operations, engineering, supply chain, finance) to support project execution.
  • Sustainability Data & Analysis

  • Collect, validate, and manage sustainability data, including Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
  • Assist in maintaining greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories aligned with the GHG Protocol.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support development of dashboards, reports, and presentations for internal stakeholders.
  • Sustainability Operations Support

  • Partner with internal teams to support initiatives related to:
  • Energy efficiency and facility emissions
  • Waste and water management
  • Supply chain sustainability data collection
  • Assist in evaluating sustainability improvement opportunities through basic analysis and research.
  • Regulatory & Reporting Support

  • Support preparation of sustainability disclosures and reports (e.g., SASB, GRI, CSRD).
  • Assist with data gathering for audits, customer requests, and ESG questionnaires (e.g., CDP, EcoVadis).
  • Monitor and summarize emerging sustainability regulations and standards.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather data and support initiatives.
  • Help prepare materials for leadership updates and external communications.
  • Contribute to internal sustainability awareness and engagement efforts.
  • The candidate will be expected to perform additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization
  • Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in sustainability, data analysis, operations, or a related role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience working with data (Excel, dashboards, or similar tools).
  • Basic understanding of sustainability concepts (GHG emissions, ESG, or climate-related frameworks).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional manufacturing environment.
  • Able to travel for work 25-30%.
  • Demonstrated career ambition with a track record of growth and increasing responsibility; highly promotable with the potential to take on broader leadership roles within a fast-paced, high-growth organization
  • Preferred

  • Exposure to sustainability frameworks (GHG Protocol, SASB, GRI, CDP, etc.).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Internship or work experience in manufacturing, industrial, or energy-related environments.
  • Familiarity with ESG or sustainability reporting tools/platforms is a plus.
