Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer
Role summary
IEM is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Enterprise Engineering Division. This role focuses on optimizing and configuring low voltage power products through a systems approach. Responsibilities include extensive 3D modeling and 2D drafting, BOM management, cross-functional collaboration with product management, commercial, design, and manufacturing teams, and ensuring designs meet project specifications and industry standards. The engineer will also mentor junior staff and contribute to successful project delivery. A BSME and 7+ years of experience are required, with a preference for experience in configure-to-order or system engineering environments.

Position Summary
The Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Enterprise Engineering Division is responsible for collaborating with product management, commercial, design, and manufacturing teams to develop and maintain a “system” approach to optimizing and establishing configurations within IEM’s low voltage power products. This role involves extensive 3D modeling and 2D drafting, creating and maintaining BOMs, coordination with internal stakeholders, and ensuring that configurations meet project specifications and industry standards. The Senior Engineer plays a critical role in mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive successful project delivery.
