We are looking for a Desktop Engineering and Security Specialist for our client, a leading global investment management firm. This role is dedicated to maintaining and securing desktop environments within a complex, multi-office financial infrastructure.

The Desktop Engineer owns the implementation, support, and security of desktop systems and related infrastructure globally. The position is responsible for device management, troubleshooting, system integration, and supporting security policies to ensure a resilient, compliant desktop environment that supports business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage device imaging, configuration, and deployment using SCCM and Intune
  • Support hardware and software troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
  • Administer Group Policy Objects to enforce desktop security and compliance
  • Support virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments including Citrix XenApp and DaaS
  • Implement and manage security tools such as Defender, CASB, and CIS Benchmarking
  • Automate tasks through scripting, primarily PowerShell, for system maintenance
  • Coordinate system and software testing, including patching and updates
  • Assist with data migration, process testing, and system integrations
  • Provide advanced support for remote and global users
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support

Technical Skills

  • 5+ years in IT support within financial services
  • Expertise in Windows desktop, Citrix VDI, and endpoint management
  • Proficient in SCCM, Intune, GPO, PowerShell scripting
  • Experience with security tools (Defender, CASB, CIS Benchmarks)
  • Familiar with network, storage, and telephony systems
  • Knowledge of data migration, system testing, and automation
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Industry experience supporting highly regulated financial environments
