Provident Bank, a highly regarded financial institution, seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer specializing in Unix/Linux. This hybrid role is responsible for architecting, implementing, and supporting enterprise-level Linux systems and container-orchestration platforms, with a focus on Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies. Key responsibilities include designing and maintaining Linux infrastructure, optimizing Kubernetes clusters, collaborating with DevOps and security teams, troubleshooting complex issues, and developing Infrastructure-as-Code automation. The role requires a minimum of 5 years of Linux engineering experience and proficiency in scripting, networking, and IaC tools.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Unix / Linux Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for architecting, implementing, and supporting enterprise-level Linux systems and container-orchestration platforms. This role ensures the stability, scalability, and security of Linux-based infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Kubernetes clusters and cloud-native technologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain Linux server infrastructure supporting critical enterprise workloads.
  • Architect, administer, and optimize Kubernetes clusters, including CI/CD integration.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and security teams on containerization best practices.
  • Troubleshoot complex system and orchestration issues.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code automation.
  • Document system architectures and operational procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HS diploma. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of Linux engineering experience.
  • Production Kubernetes experience preferred.
  • Linux administration expertise (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, Ubuntu).
  • Kubernetes cluster management experience.
  • Experience with Docker, containerd, CRI-O.
  • Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, Helm, GitOps.
  • Strong networking fundamentals.
  • Scripting ability (Bash, Python).
  • Security and compliance understanding.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent analytical, mentoring, communication, and project management capabilities.

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATES:

  • Preferred: RHCSA/RHCE, CKA/CKAD/CKS, cloud certifications.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in a normal office environment. Noise levels are usually moderate. This position involves travel to customers and property locations.

PAY DETAILS:

$87,200 - $124,500 /annually

Please note, the base pay actually offered may vary based upon the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, education, geographic location, internal equity, and other applicable business and organizational needs.

This role is incentive eligible based upon company, business, and/or individual goal achievement and performance.
