As a Summer 2026 Technology Intern, you’ll gain insight into how technology supports and enhances the creative process at an animation studio, while expanding your skills through mentorship from industry experts.

We partner with a wide range of departments including Production Management, HR, Recruitment, Communications, Training and Finance. We focus primarily on web technologies to provide solutions for our stakeholders.

We’re looking for a Data Engineering Intern to contribute to building scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions that power our new data platform. If you’re passionate about solving problems with data, especially as they relate to the animated filmmaking process, and curious about new technologies, we’d love to hear from you!

Project Includes:

  • AI for Data Quality - How can we leverage AI agents in existing data applications & warehouses to report possible quality issues in our data platforms and sources? Especially for anomaly detection within existing data pipelines.
  • Data Quality Visualization - How can we surface pipeline and quality information in front ends like Snowflake to make troubleshooting easier? This could involve both front end application development for dashboards, or backend reporting and monitoring for data quality issues.
  • Support our existing self-service analytics workflows by helping to prepare clean, well-modeled data for a varied group of end users.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience with SQL
  • Familiarity with data structures & database infrastructure
  • Experience using AI to solve data problems
  • Familiarity with modern data warehousing and analytics tools (i.e. Snowflake, Tableau, etc.)
  • Familiarity with API’s (REST, GraphQL), and other backend technologies
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Python (can include coursework or projects)
  • Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and eagerness to grow in a collaborative environment
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Self-motivated to research and learn new technologies
  • Comfortable with reaching out to fellow engineers for assistance when appropriate and providing regular project updates to the team and stakeholders

Required Education

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university with a major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, AI/ML, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field.

Program Details

  • Location: Burbank, CA
  • Program Length: May/June - August/September 2026 (12 weeks)

Eligibility

  • Must be at least 18 years old and enrolled in an accredited college/university during the Spring or Fall semester/quarter prior to the internship or currently participating in a Disney College Program or Professional Internship.
