We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Paralegal to provide vital support across a broad spectrum of legal practice areas. Responsibilities include legal research using Westlaw and LexisNexis, drafting and proofreading legal documents, managing case files in MyCase, performing document review and data entry, supporting litigation, conducting client/witness interviews, maintaining client communication, and handling administrative functions. Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will provide vital support across a broad spectrum of legal practice areas, including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, tribal law, patent law, and more. Your proactive approach and strong organizational skills will help ensure the smooth operation of our law office, assisting attorneys with case management, legal research, document review, drafting, and administrative tasks. Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case preparation and strategy.
  • Assist attorneys with drafting and proofreading legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence.
  • Manage legal case files and documents efficiently using document management system MyCase.
  • Perform document review and data entry to ensure accuracy and completeness of case records.
  • Support litigation processes by organizing case materials, preparing discovery documents, and coordinating depositions.
  • Conduct interviews with clients or witnesses as part of case development and gather pertinent information for legal proceedings.
  • Maintain excellent communication with clients, courts, and external stakeholders through professional phone etiquette and timely updates.
  • Support administrative functions including filing, scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and providing executive administrative support as needed.

Requirements

  • Proven paralegal experience or legal administrative experience in a law office setting.
  • Strong knowledge of multiple practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, landlord-tenant law, immigration law, UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), and litigation procedures.
  • Proficiency in legal research platforms including Westlaw and LexisNexis.
  • Familiarity with document management systems like iManage and PCLaw for case organization.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft clear legal documents and proofread meticulously.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Experience with transcription services and familiarity with contracts is preferred.
  • Ability to perform clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, phone handling with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Knowledge of project management principles applicable within a legal context is a plus.
