Role summary

RACAR is seeking a System Product Owner for a 12-month contract role in Raymond, Ohio, with potential for conversion to a permanent position. The role requires 80% onsite presence and focuses on supporting North American regional manufacturing Line Control systems (MES). The Product Owner will act as a business system expert, driving system strategy, standardization, and implementation across plants to maximize business value and enhance plant characteristics. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing MES strategies, leading projects, ensuring system standards, completing testing and verification, and participating in training program development. A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience in Process Engineering or Manufacturing Systems within the automotive industry are required.

Support NA regional manufacturing Line Control system (MES) as a business system expert by supporting the development and direction of system strategy, standardization and diffusion across all North American manufacturing plants ensuring robust, repeatable, and controlled processes are in place to maximize business value and support plant characteristics enhancement.

Job Duties:

  • Support the development and implementation of strategies including plans & targets to standardize, improve the business operating capabilities of the MES system for the region.
  • Lead projects/themes of limited complexity and scope through collaboration with team (plant, IT, regional engineering) including current system enhancements and feasibility studies for future products.
  • Work effectively with local plant departments and regional IT to ensure system standards are created, documented, and sustained
  • Complete testing, verification, and documentation of system changes. Confirm system requirements are met during appropriate UAT timing and assure countermeasure application on system before change release.
  • Participate in the development of a standard training program for system use and deliver when required
  • Strong communication and consensus building (Work effectively with IT and other plants to achieve most positive results possible)
  • Drives outcomes with strong project plan development including specific action plans, key milestones and output
  • Manufacturing process flow and line/plant layout
  • Multi-tasking capabilities
  • Ability to thoroughly complete user acceptance testing to deliver a solid user experience.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

  • Minimum Educational Qualifications: Bachelors degree related to process, manufacturing management, industrial or systems engineering or other equivalent degree or required experience
  • Minimum Experience: 2+ years experience in Process Engineering or Manufacturing Systems with a focus on the automotive industry
  • Other Job-Specific Skill: Systems technology experience, knowledge of process engineering, business analysis skills, project management, process project design & implementation, change management, MS Office.
