Role summary
A fast-growing, PE-backed healthcare technology company is seeking an Assistant Controller to join their finance leadership team. This role will own core accounting operations, including the monthly close process, financial reporting and analysis, and AP/AR review. The Assistant Controller will ensure compliance with GAAP, manage external audits, and lead a team of 3 accounting professionals. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and experience in high-growth, PE-backed, or healthcare/fintech environments. This is a remote position requiring PST hours.

Their platform processes and manages billions of dollars in transactions annually and is deeply embedded in the operational workflows of thousands of healthcare organizations.
Following a recent PE investment, the company is entering its next phase of growth and is building out its finance and accounting leadership team to support scale, structure, and operational excellence.
They are hiring an
Assistant Controller
to work directly with the Controller and take ownership of core accounting operations.
What You’ll Do
- Own the
monthly close process
across all financial statements
- Lead
financial reporting and analysis
to support leadership decision-making
- Oversee day-to-day
accounting operations
, including AP/AR review
- Ensure compliance with
GAAP
and maintain audit-ready financials
- Serve as the primary point of contact for
external auditors
- Manage and develop a
team of 3 accounting professionals
- Partner cross-functionally to improve processes and drive operational efficiency

Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in accounting, with exposure to
full-cycle close
- Strong understanding of
GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience supporting or leading
external audits
- Prior experience managing or mentoring team members preferred
- Background in
high-growth, PE-backed, or healthcare/fintech environments
is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (CPA is a plus but not required)
- Highly prefer a candidate willing to work PST hours
