Role summary

TK Elevator is seeking an experienced Software Engineer II in Atlanta, GA. This role involves designing, developing, implementing, and analyzing testing solutions for embedded elevator monitoring and control systems. The engineer will participate in all phases of the software product development lifecycle, create documentation, and design software systems and components. Key responsibilities include maintaining software compliance with elevator code standards (A17.1), implementing new features, and providing technical support. The role also requires serving as a technical expert for MAX software releases and assisting with troubleshooting. A Bachelor's degree in a related field and significant experience in C/C++, embedded software development, electronics, networking protocols, and elevator code standards are required.

Software Engineer II

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Design, develop, implement, and analyze testing solutions for embedded elevator monitoring and control systems and related devices.
  • Participate in all phases of the software product development lifecycle. Evaluate requirements, devices, and frameworks needed to implement end-to-end testing of software products.
  • Create and maintain test requirements and descriptions, software design requirements, and other related documentation.
  • Design elevator software systems and components associated with elevator systems.
  • Maintain software compliance with A17.1 code requirements.
  • Implement new features based on customer or marketing specifications.
  • Implement software solutions related to quality improvement, cost reductions, and new customer requirements.
  • Assist other departments with software related questions and technical support.
  • Serve as the technical expert and point of contact to the U.S. field on software releases of MAX for the U.S. DCP Cluster team.
  • Assist the U.S. team with troubleshooting and resolving issues with MAX and elevator controller interface.
  • Lead test activities of software releases.
  • Assist in improving software quality.

Who We Are Looking For
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field required.
  • In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field and five years of experience, Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field and three years of the above-requested experience.
  • Five years of experience with C and C++ required.
  • Five years of experience developing embedding software required.
  • Five years of experience working in electronics required.
  • Five years of experience in one or more software languages (Lab-View, Visual Basic, C Sharp, Visual C++, Test Stand, or a similar software package) required.
  • Five years of experience developing electronic test equipment required.
  • Four years of experience working with networking protocols (TCP/IP) required.
  • Two years of experience working with the GHS operating system required.
  • Two years of experience working with MS Azure required.
  • Two years of experience developing software compliant with elevator code standards A17 and EN81 required.
  • Any experience with elevator domain knowledge, troubleshooting elevator controllers, low level electrical and electronic components, device driver development, layer 2 protocols, SQL, and data bricks required.
